Starbucks Generation

Starbucks is more like a library now with jc or uni students hogging the seats to study.
We are in the Starbucks generation , or from what I can deduce.

People like me cannot live without Starbucks.
No not because u have a coffee addiction but rather this is a place where I can find my salvation, to kill time. Nice pies and good drinks plus free Wi-Fi to leech, comfortable seats, the occasional hot babe walking past you or seating around you.

Well maybe I or rather we were influenced by shows like Friends or Frasier where the "coffee shop" scene would appear in every episode.

Kinda gave it the cool factor programed into our minds.

Fast forward to present day, as i'm writing or typing this article, I'm siting at the Starbucks, killing time.

Had my peppery chicken pie and watched movies on my iPhone, reading a book, hanging out here to kill time. A place where nobody tells you what to do and well u can pretty much hang out here till it closes or you when u can't feel ur ass.

Starbucks is spreading like wildfire. Every new shopping centers has it. You can expect a starbucks at almost every corner or orchard or in the city hall area.

It's the same in most developed country.

Maybe we ain't seeing the big picture. Their real goal ain't to intoxicate us with their wonderful tasting coffee but rather to conquer the world.

Tiny cells of Starbucks opening at every corner of the country. When the time is right, the starbucks revolution will take over the world.

Haha well that's my Dan Brown moment with the conspiracy and all.

My point is, the Starbucks generation like you and me is indeed something that define us from the previous generation.

Times are a changing : )

Stone Age

Power outage

No, not because the bills weren't paid, they were re-wiring the place to me Batcave... ar i mean home.

They cut the power at 8.30am so i had to get up earlier to shower and blow dry my hair and all. So indeed they cut the power at 8.30 sharp.

Went down for breakfast with Mom which i have not done in ages.

In this day of age, all of us are spoilt by creature comforts(C.C) and most are run by electricity. To do the math..

C.C - Electricity= You Are Screwed

Well most of you must be thinking.

"You served your time in army where at times you are stripped of creature comforts, so why can't you survive without it?"

My answer to that,

I'm not longer in the army so why do i have to torture myself.
Tell me what you do without electricity at home?
You can't surf the net, watch Tv, play PS3,..etc

Of course i could read a book on creating alternate energy or just stare blankly at the wall with Lucky.

So, i grabbed my laptop and headed to the Starbucks at Marina Square to leech on the power there and to kill time.

I ordered the Green Tea Latte.

It may look like a cup of algae but it's a cup full of green tea greatness.

I stayed there for around 7 hours, talk bout free loading. My personal best timing there but it's nothing to be proud off. Spending the time there watching Hong Kong dramas and well 'bird-watching', if you know what i mean.

For lunch i had the Perry Chicken Pie. Woo man, it was good but $3.90 for it is a little over the top.

The bad thing bout staying there 7 hours alone, nobody will watch over your stuff, they say Singapore has a low crime rate, but seriously who can you really trust out there. Be safe than sorry.
Of course not being able to leave the table means, you can't go to the toilet. Yea it was a little miserable judging that you had a cuppa and it was cold but in the army, they do help train you a little for such situations.

Neither did i use a rubber band nor a water bottle.

Well i'll keep it to myself :P

Too bad May May couldn't join me, she's busy with school but well i can always entertain myself. Headed to do a little shopping and to search for a book at Borders.

Well you could say, it was a eventful time wasting day today.

That's all i got today.
